Hearing loss that is also called as the hearing impairment or deaf which is a familiar term for the layman as well. The partial loss or complete hearing loss is caused due to lack of anything in the body or defect. According to statistics every 3rd newborn out of 1000 has the
hearing loss problem since the very beginning of their birth.
The two main causes of hearing loss are sensor and the conductive neural.
1. Conductive Causes: The hearing loss due to the movement problem of the sound waves through the ear. The same is the case when the ear canals gets blocked. There are some other causes of it as well.
2. Sensorineural Causes: This type of cause makes the loss in sound waves due to damaged nerve and hair cells.
Due to the advancement in technology, the hearing treatment is not that difficult. There are two types of hearing treatment; reversible hearing loss treatment ad permanent hearing loss.
Causes are most important when we talk about treatment for reversible hearing impairment. Most of the time this treated successfully. Presbycusis is the first thing that comes to the mind when we talk about the age factor. Many people might be unfamiliar with this word but this is the most common problem of hearing that is seen in the old age. Normally 30% to 35% suffers with Presbycusis in the age between 65 and 75. The person may know about the Presbycusis problem when he feels complication in hearing and some rough sounds makes him uncomfortable.
Presbycusis may affect in mild, moderately or severely. In simple words , the conductive hearing loss means gradual loss of hearing ability. This happens when a person suffers from the diseases that changes its blood supply like high bold pressure, diabetes or other circulatory diseases.
Conductive hearing loss usually occurs due to noise exposure, which can be prevented. One should be aware of the gadgets that causes the hearing impairment gradually. These gadgets include like the ones wood working machines, firearms and lawn mowers. If you expose too much or for a long time to such noises then be ready as it might be a risk to a person's hearing.
Hearing is an essential sense that a person needs to enjoy his life. You should not put your hearing at risk. You can't do anything preventive in case of age factor but if there is another case then you should be careful. A bit of more research can help you in finding more details.
